Inbetweeners style car going under the hammer complete with red door

It's a TV programme many of us grew up with, and you can now get your hands on a car just like the one we saw in the Inbetweeners - complete with one red door and rude bumper sticker.

A yellow 1996 Fiat Cinquecento appeared in the much-loved Channel 4 show when it was given to character Simon by his parents.

It eventually left the lads red faced when it broke down near a bus stop - after they swore at everyone in the queue.

And a car which looks just like the one on the show is going under the hammer at East Bristol Auctions on May 28.

Auctioneer Andrew Stow said: ''It’s a really fun piece of memorabilia. It’s not the Batmobile, or the Ghostbusters’ Ecto 1, but for people who know the series - it may as well be!

"When it arrived at our saleroom there was literally a queue of passers-by wanting their picture taken with it.

"It’s just so British. It’s an underdog, an unloved car – yet everyone wants a piece of it. Quite remarkable for a 20-year-old yellow Fiat!"

It is being sold in a specialist Entertainment Memorabilia Auction, with an estimate of £2,000-£3,000.

If that seems a little low for such a legendary car, you should know there is no letter of provenance to prove the car was actually used in the show. East Bristol Auctions is therefore not able to guarantee production use, and the car is sold as a replica only.

Despite the cars’ reputation on screen it comes in good condition with a full year’s MOT. You can view the listing here.
