In The Style sells out of Caroline Flack T-shirt and raises £200k for suicide prevention

In The Style have doubled its fundraising income in the last 24 hours to a whopping £200,000 for Samaritans with a Caroline Flack inspired T-shirt.

Flack took her own life at the age of 40 at her London flat on Saturday, just three weeks before she was due to stand trial.

In the wake of her tragic death, In The Style designed a T-shirt which had the inspirational quote Caroline had posted on her  Instagram page on December 5 last year.

The quote read: "In a world where you can be anything... Be kind."

The T-shirt has only been up for grabs for just two days, and each batch of the Be Kind T-shirts has since sold out in a matter of hours.

The fashion giant tweeted: "OVER £200,000 now raised for @samaritanscharity in 24 hours is just beyond incredible.

"The sole purpose of these #BeKind tees was to spread love, raise awareness and donations for charity and it’s definitely done that."

Social media was awash with the touching quote over the weekend as everyone reflected on the sad news of Caroline's death.

In The Style said the company wanted to use its fashion platform to raise awareness about mental health and its impact on people.

In a later tweet, it wrote: "We are truly grateful to everybody supporting our #BeKind tees and raising over £200,000 for @samaritans.

"We are currently sold out due to unprecedented demand but will keep you posted with updates as soon as we have more info. X."

The fashion brand has been donating 100% of the profits made from the Be Kind T-shirts to the Samaritans charity.

On its website, a statement read: "Following on from the recent tragic events and the ongoing mental health battles faced by so many we feel it's so important as a brand to use our platform to raise further awareness to mental health and the impacts surrounding this.

"You honestly never know what goes on behind closed doors and being kind costs nothing. We have created a 'Be Kind' tee and will be donating 100% of the profits to Samaritans.

"They are a charity on hand 24/7 to support people who are suffering with mental health and suicidal thought."

The company gushed it was "completely overwhelmed" with the support from everyone.

Yesterday, In The Style wrote on Twitter: "We are completely overwhelmed by the support for the  #BeKind tee. We have already raised over £100,000 for  @samaritans in just a few hours!

"Sorry to anyone who hasn't been able to support yet - the demand has been unprecedented! We will have more stock on by 12pm today for you."

The fashion brand has continued to add more stock to meet the high demand from people in the wake of the tragedy.
