Access to mobile phones inside jails has become a menace and the location of Ambala Central Jail allows criminals to throw communication gadgets in packets from outside via an adjoining road to jail wall. The Ambala administration is working out to shift Ambala jail to a new location.
There have been cases in the past in Ambala when gangsters used mobile phones from inside Central jail to commit criminal activities. In murder case of famous Punjabi singer, Sidhu Moosewala alias Shubhdeep Singh, the gangsters had access to mobile phones inside jails, thus organising to commit serious offences.
