In Search of Greatness review: A film to strike terror into the hearts of Tiger parents

A documentary that will strike terror into the hearts of Tiger parents, the thesis of In Search of Greatness is that forcing kids to practice sports (or anything) is futile; if you want them to succeed, you need to back off.

Director Gabe Polsky has a style best described as manic – either he has a short attention span or thinks we do.

Luckily, testimony from two consummate team players provides the film with a quietly solid core. The footballer Pele talks about his brilliant (and disabled) colleague, Garrincha.

Ice-hockey legend Wayne Gretzky extols the virtues of a preternaturally sensitive team-mate. Great stuff.
