In Plain Sight cast as ITV repeat drama based on real life murders

The murders carried out by real life killer Peter Manuel is back in the primetime TV spotlight this week when detective drama In Plain Sight is repeated.

First broadcast at the end of 2016, In Plain Sight is based on the killings carried out by Scottish criminal Manuel between 1958 and 1960 and the cop determined to bring him to justice, Detective William Muncie.

Line of Duty star Martin Compston plays Manuel, in a role a million miles away from his famous AC-12 alias Steve Arnott and he informed his many Twitter followers that In Plain Sight was being repeated, posting: "IN PLAIN SIGHT’ led by the brilliant @djhenshall directed by the maestro @JohnStrickland6 on @ITV tonight 9pm"

Martin isn't the only well known face in the cast, with Douglas Henshall taking on the role of Muncie, the man who put Manuel behind bars.

In Plain Sight will air on Monday, June 7, Tuesday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 9 at 9pm, with each episode lasting 60 minutes.

Anticipation for it airing this week had been high on Twitter, with star Jenny Hulse tweeting about it being repeated, posting: "If you missed it the first time round, IN PLAIN SIGHT is on ITV tonight at 9pm. You wouldn't bloody believe what the woman I played went through"

Co-star Joanne Thomson tweeted about the drama being her first big TV gig, writing: "This was my first TV job ever & in my very first scene, I had to single-handedly interrogate @martin_compston HA! So if you'd like to watch me consistently try not to shit myself, it's on tonight, Tues & Wed on @itv @9pm Go wild."
