In pictures: Tottenham pair Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn back in training ahead of Premier League return

Tottenham pair Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn were among those back in training on Friday.

Kane, who was injured at Southampton on New Year's Day and expected to miss the majority of remaining Premier League matches, is now fighting fit and raring to play his part in the run-in.

“The majority of the players are looking forward to playing again whenever it’s possible, but we want it to be as safe as well,” Kane told ITV on Friday.

The England captain took part in an isolated session at Hotspur Way but has his sights set on resuming group drills as soon as possible.

Premier League clubs are set to vote on safety protocols over a return to group sessions at Monday's shareholders' meeting with a view to restarting the top flight campaign in June.

Kane added: “I am happy to start training in small groups if that is allowed and just trying to get back to some normality as soon as possible. Everyone is different and has their own personal view.”

Bergwijn, who was nursing a sprained ankle when the Premier League was put on hold, was given permission to return home to the Netherlands at the end of March for the birth of his first child.

Now back in the capital, he too has recovered and did some fitness work alongside colleagues Moussa Sissoko, Huglo Lloris, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura at the club's training base.
