In pictures: these are the texts you need to look out for from coronavirus scammers

City of London Police recently warned of a growing trend of coronavirus-related fraud which has seen reports of scams increase by 400% within the space of a month.

Now one Facebook user has shared images of the texts he received from scammers trying to get him to enter his bank account details.

The post reads:

"The scammers have quickly identified their latest great opportunity with many, especially the elderly, being isolated.

"Got the text this morning. The cosmetically correct scam UK GOV site goes on to try to harvest personal data with this promise of a payment.

"Please warn those you think may be vulnerable. Even the most clued-up are under stress at the moment and may get duped.

The text promises people who click the link a payment of £258 apparently issued by the UK Government.

The link then goes through to a very similar site to that of the UK Government website.
