In pictures: The people and places in Manchester that make M.E.N. readers smile

We're living in unprecedented times, cooped up at home until who knows when and worried about how the coronavirus pandemic might affect us next.

With the government tells us to stay at home and avoid all unnecessary contact with others, it could be a while before we're able to enjoy the things we love about Greater Manchester.

Football, music, theatre, food, drinks and clubs are just some of the pleasures we can't enjoy.

We will miss them - there's no doubt about that.

And there is huge concern for many of the businesses and their employees.

You can support restaurants, bars and cafes by using their takeout service - we are keeping an up-to-date list of what is available here.

But in the meantime, we asked M.E.N. readers to share pictures of the people and places in Manchester that put a smile on their face.

Here is a reminder of what we love about our city and the wider region, because it won't be long before we'll be making new memories.
