Monaco 3-2 Sporting Lisbon 1997-98 group stage Monaco, who had lost 3-0 in Lisbon in their opening group fixture, were staring down the barrel when they fell 2-0 behind to goals from Sporting's Oceano and Luis Miguel in the return. But David Trezeguet and Thierry Henry brought them level before Henry scored a stoppage time winner. Monaco would go on to reach the semi-finals

Barcelona 5-1 Chelsea 1999-00 quarter-finals Chelsea were 3-0 up after a quarter of this tie, Luis Figo scoring in the second half of the first leg at Stamford Bridge to give Barcelona some hope. Rivaldo and Figo then scored early on at the Nou Camp to bring the tie back to 3-3 on aggregate, before Tore Andre Flo put Chelsea back in front. Deportivo 4-0 Milan 2003-04 quarter-finals Arguably the greatest two-leg comeback in Champions League history. Deportivo were down and out after the first instalment of this tie, having been thrashed 4-1 by the holders at the San Siro. Walter Pandiani gave Deportivo hope in the fifth minute at the Riazor, and hope became belief when Juan Carlos Valeron added a second after 35 minutes. Milan 3-3 Liverpool (Pens 2-3) 2004-05 final One of the most dramatic finals in any competition saw the underdogs fall 3-0 behind to goals from Paolo Maldini and two from Hernán Crespo. At half-time the Liverpool manager, Rafael Benitez, brought on Didier Hamann, and the tactical tweak inspired the Reds, Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso all scoring in a mad six-minute spell. Chelsea 4-1 Napoli 2011-12 last 16 Chelsea had been humbled 3-1 in the first leg in Naples, manager André Villas-Boas losing his job a few days later. The caretaker boss, Roberto di Matteo, restored the side's confidence before the second leg, and the old favourites Didier Drogba, John Terry and Frank Lampard scored to take the tie to extra-time at Stamford Bridge.
