The number of coronavirus infections worldwide has hit 1 million, with more than 50,000 deaths, according to the tally kept by Johns Hopkins University. In India, the number of COVID-19 cases doubled in the past week, with over 300 new cases, and 12 deaths reported on April 2. Data from the State authorities put the number of positive cases at over 2,500 and the death toll at over 70.
