In pictures: Bravery and devastation as fire burns on the South Coast

The Currowan bushfire on the South Coast has burnt more than 82,000 hectares north of Batemans Bay.

At times some communities, including Bawley Point, were directly under threat. While the fire is still burning out of control, homeowners and businesses in the areas through which it has burnt are starting to pick up the pieces.
