In pictures: Manchester comes alive to celebrate Chinese New Year 2020

Manchester came alive this weekend as the city celebrated Chinese New Year.

Thousands of people braved the rain to enjoy the spectacular dragon parade as it snaked its way around the streets of Manchester.

The 175ft dragon, accompanied by dancers, opera singers, and giant Buddha dolls, led the procession from St Peter's Square, via Peter Street, Oxford Road, Portland Street and Princess Street, to the heart of Chinatown.
