In pictures: Leandro Trossard takes part in first Arsenal training session after £26m transfer

Leandro Trossard was put through his paces by Mikel Arteta for the first time as an Arsenal player on Friday.

The afternoon training session came just hours after the winger put pen to paper on a January transfer from Brighton, in a deal costing an initial £21million with £5m in add-ons.

Arsenal hope Trossard will be eligible to make his debut against Manchester United on Sunday after filing the necessary paperwork before the noon deadline.

Arteta is set to name the 28-year-old on the bench if so, as he gets to grips with his new player in just a couple of training sessions.

“I’m really excited to get started,” Trossard told the club website.

“This is a big club and I’m ready to show the fans what I can do. Everyone has seen how well we’re doing already and I’m here to help achieve their dreams - including myself.

“I’m going to take it day by day, work hard and try to help the team to achieve their goals. [I want to] get better as well. I know the manager is a great coach and I hope to be involved in doing great things and getting better as a player in every aspect.

“I’m really excited to see the fans in the stadium. I hope I can give you my all. I want to try and create as many magic moments as possible, and hopefully we can celebrate together.”
