The joy-filled 'Bubble Rush' 5k took place in Malahide Castle this afternoon, with the funds from the fun run through coloured bubbles going towards the amazing 'Make-A-Wish' foundation.
The race is run with a difference: starting in a sea of foam, and along the course are four bubble stations pumping out masses of coloured bubbles, and kicked off at 11:00am on Sunday afternoon.
It’s not officially a 'race' as such as the event itself isn’t timed, meaning there’s no pressure to run.
Make-A-Wish Ireland has been granting the wishes of children living with life-threatening illness throughout the country since 1992.
The charity creates incredible memories in the granting of wishes, which for a child, allows them to cope with the injections and treatments and hospital stays; and on a bigger scale, helps heal fractured families through the journey a wish brings them on and the hope it offers.
The course consists of two-laps, and is pushchair and wheelchair-friendly, so everyone in the family can take part.
All finishers in the run also received a Bubble Rush medal, making the experience even more memorable!
