The Princess of Wales is returning to international travel with a visit to Reggio Emilia in northern Italy next week.
The visit – a solo working trip with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood – will be her first extended official foreign trip in nearly three-and-a-half years following her cancer diagnosis.
As Kate prepares to return to international travel, we look back at some of the best images captured by the Press Association from her most recent overseas tours.
– Boston (November/December 2022)
The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States to attend the second Earthshot Prize awards ceremony towards the end of 2022.

Kate and William were presented with flowers by an eight-year-old boy dressed as a Guardsman during a visit to the Greentown Labs in Somerville to learn about climate innovations being incubated in Boston during the second day of the visit.

The third and final day of the visit culminated with the Earthshot Prize ceremony. Kate wore jewels from her late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales and chose an emerald green Solace London dress, which was rented from the platform HURR, and glittering heels for her outfit on the green carpet.

– Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas (March 2022)
William and Kate embarked on a platinum jubilee tour to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas in March 2022.
Kate attended a reception at the Mayan ruins at Cahal Pech wearing a vibrant metallic pink dress from brand The Vampire’s Wife.

The princess stunned in this forest green tulle and sequinned gown during a dinner at King’s House in Kingston, Jamaica.

Kate finished the Caribbean tour in the Bahamas where she and William met locals during a traditional fish fry on the Abaco Islands.

– Copenhagen (February 2022)
Embracing her inner child, Kate slid down a slide during a visit to the Lego Foundation PlayLab at University College Copenhagen where students training to be early years professionals are encouraged to play.

Kate kept things casual on the second day of her visit to Copenhagen, sporting a khaki coat, cream roll-neck jumper, black skinny jeans and brown boots during a trip to Stenurten Forest Kindergarten.

Kate linked up with the Danish royal family during the visit. She later walked across the impressive Amalienborg courtyard with Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

– Dublin (March 2020)
Irish eyes were smiling when William and Kate visited Dublin, meeting with Ireland’s then-president Michael D Higgins. Kate looked stylish in an emerald green Catherine Walker coat and an Alessandra Rich dress.

Kate wore a dazzling green dress at a reception hosted by Britain’s ambassador to Ireland Robin Barnett in the Gravity Bar at Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse.

The couple took some time for a stroll and enjoyed the scenery at Howth Head during the visit.

– Pakistan (October 2019)
William and Kate’s tour of Pakistan in 2019 began with the then-duchess showing off her sporting prowess during a game of cricket.

Kate ventured to the Hindu Kush mountain range where she learned the effects of glacial melting.

There were scenes that brought back memories of Diana when the royals were welcomed to the Badshahi Mosque.
Kate opted for a headscarf and traditional shalwar kameez as she walked barefoot through the religious site, before the couple travelled to a cancer facility twice visited by Diana in the 1990s.
