In pictures: Co Down kids take part in funky World Book Day challenge

A Downpatrick primary school set their students an important challenge this week - to get creative with their reading.

Our Lady's and St. Patrick's and Bunscoil Mhuire agus Phádraig pupils were reading in tractors, on trampolines and even upside down in a bid to be crowned winners of the exciting challenge.

Speaking to Belfast Live, a teacher at the school said the kids at the school have a real passion for reading.

Laura Oakes said: "As part of World book Day celebrations the children from Our Lady and St Patrick's Bunscoil Mhuire agus Phádraig took part in a reading challenge.

"As you can see the children and their families were up for the challenge. It’s clear from these pictures that the children in our school have a passion for reading and are keen to read anywhere and everywhere."
