In pictures: all the best, most creative and funniest signs from the Edinburgh anti-Trump protest

It's safe to say that US president Donald Trump is a bit of a divisive figure, so it should come as no surprise that his official state visit to the UK has met with a barrage of protests, including one right here in Edinburgh city centre .

The wet weather on 4 June didn't stop hundreds of campaigners descending on the Royal Mile to wave placards condemning Trump, who hasn't stopped causing controversy during his visit: most notably taking to Twitter to condemn London mayor Sadiq Khan as his plane was touching down on British soil.

Trump also drew criticism after calling Meghan Markle 'nasty' in an interview with The Sun.
