In Panchkula, married couple attack 57-year-old man over parking

PANCHKULA: A 57-year-old resident of Sector 14 was allegedly assaulted by a married couple living in his society over a parking dispute, leading the police to register a case.

Ashu Varuna, a resident of Kendriya Vihar, said he called coordinator of the society, Sanjay Suri, to resolve the dispute. Varuna said the couple used to park in a manner that did not leave space for vehicles of others. The car owner identified as Chetna and her husband Anubhav Mishra came to the spot and allegedly started using abusive language against Varuna. Later, the woman caught hold of Varuna while her husband punched him on his nose. Varuna said, "I have been living here for 22 years. I was discussing a parking issue. How can somebody hit me and use abusive language?"

The incident was captured on one of the CCTV cameras. Police registered a case under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (act done by several persons with same intention) of the IPC.
