In my opinion, this is the only 5 star gaming chair out there

The Titan Evo in a home office. .

I first reviewed the Titan Evo gaming chair back in 2022, and though I was impressed with its build and comfort, I couldn't quite give it a full five star review, as the arms of that model kept loosening. I also wasn't 100% sure about the look of its faux leather. The 2025 model absolutely won me over, in all departments.

I'm going to spoil the surprise and just tell you now – the Titan Evo (2025) is the best gaming office chair that I've tested, and though I don't go for gaming aesthetics in the whole, this is a chair that I would happily keep as my only home office chair. It's going to keep it's place as the best gaming chair in my guide of the best ergonomic chairs, and though at the $500 price mark, it will be one of the pricier best budget office chairs out there, I think it's well worth the investment.

Let's dig into it...

Assembly

I don't usually start my chair reviews with the assembly, as that's pretty boring and I know people would rather read about the comfort and design. But I've actually written a whole article on the assembly of the Titan Evo chair.

Check the full story out – but in short, Secretlab has spent time and effort making the assembly process actually enjoyable. It starts the user's relationship with the chair in a fully positive way. And by the time you've parked your butt on your finished seat, you're feeling fully confident in your purchase. It's really excellent brand building, and I can't commend Secretlab enough for doing such an obvious thing so brilliantly. Something that seemingly no one else is doing in the space – taking time to make the first moments you have with your chair special.

Design and comfort

The Titan Evo's design may be based on that racing car aesthetic that DX Racer popularised in 2006 (they were actually makers of high-end car seats, until the switch to office chairs); but it does it in a more subtle way than most. Yes, there are the cradling sides around your shoulders. Yes, there is the incorporated headrest which comes with a pillow. But with 81 variants to the chair, there are several subtle, classy colour and material options to choose from.

I went for the SoftWeave Plus fabric. The main body of the seat and back is wrapped in a soft, sturdy fabric that I think is way more stylish than the faux leather option. There are suede trim on the edges of the front of the chair. As you don't really pass your hands over this area, this is more for looks than comfort or feel, but it's nice nonetheless.

The foam used for the chair is definitely on the firmer side, but you do get to sink in to it too. I imagine this is a chair that will pass the test of time. The other big win in the area of design and comfort is the magnetic headrest pillow. It's very comfortable, and easy to move up or down, depending on if you're reclining or upright, and you want to either support your head, or your neck. It fixes into your desired place with a very pleasing snap, and over three months of use, it hasn't shown the slightest sign of wear. I would advise you avoid any of the lighter pillow colours, though, as I imagine they will show up sebum (hair oil and sweat), whereas you're safe with the black variants. Right, with that dose of gross over, lets talk about the ergonomics...

Features & ergonomics

The one thing that I keep banging on about in my chair reviews is arm rests. More specifically whether they do a good job of supporting where one's elbows naturally rest when typing, and when holding a controller for gaming.

Titan Evo, being a gaming chair, nails the latter... and the former too. That's because there are enough adjustments to the standard arm rests that you get with the Evo, that you can move them up/down, forward/backward, and in/out (for if you want to tuck in your elbows). I also bagged a pair of PlushCell memory foam armrest top, which snap on magnetically. There's no denying that these are supremely comfortable, and as I have bony elbows, I was much relieved that I didn't get the usual ache after hours of use. I did also switch back to the standard arm rest tops that come with the chair, and these are plenty comfy, but certainly not as plush as the, well, PlushCell tops. I'd recommend getting the memory foam arm rest tops for an additional $79/$89.

The Titan Evo has a lumbar support that can be adjusted with 'lumbar position' and 'lumbar curvature' dials, on each side of the chair. The curvature handles how pronounced you feel the support on your lower back, and the position offers a small vertical range. I set these on the first day of using the chair and didn't think about them until starting this review three months later, which is great for peace of mind, and not having to fiddle all the time with a support that slips (something that I've experienced with cheaper chairs).

All and all, the Titan Evo is an incredibly comfortable chair, with enough features to let you get your perfect fit, and adjust as you go.

Price

Secretlab's business model is largely direct-to-consumer (DTC), so they are in control of the distribution and the pricing of the Titan Evo in the main. Luckily they offer discounts regularly. Right now, they have $50 off the retail price of $569, bringing it down to $519.

While their site should be the first place you go to to buy this chair – not least because you'll also get the full colour and material options there – you will also see some discounted chairs over at Amazon during the big retail events of the year, such Prime Day and Black Friday. Still, they will be on specific colour and materials, and will only usually be an additional $10/$20 off the discount price found on the official website.

Should you buy?

Looks are an incredibly important factor when deciding whether a gaming chair if for you. Hopefully you can decide based on my photos whether you think this chair looks good to you. For me, I really like the fabric version, in the more modest blacks and greys, and things start getting a little tacky when coloured leatherette comes in...

However, if you want a great quality chair that is supremely comfortable, that's a joy to have from the moment you start assembling it, I can't recommend Titan Evo enough. It's a brilliant chair.
