In the homicide, a 26-year-old man was shot in the South Chicago neighborhood about 8:15 p.m. on the South Side. Someone approached the man from behind and shot him several times, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead.

The 14-year-old girl was shot in the thigh in the West Englewood neighborhood about 8 p.m., police said.
