'In league with the devil’ Scots NHS board reveals shocking abuse aimed at staff

A Scots health board has revealed some of the vile abuse their staff members have received just for doing their job.

These include being compared to the 'Nazis', and being accused of being 'in league with the devil'.

NHS Grampian posted screenshots of the abuse on their social media accounts yesterday, as they urged members of the public to remember their staff are human beings too.

In one post, the health board are urged to "stop promoting lies" with the commenter adding: "When Nuremberg 2 comes along 'I was just following orders' won't wash."

Some compared the heath board to 'Nazi war criminals' (UGC)

NHS Grampian shared the explicit images as part of a campaign to get patients to respect those who are treating them.

In other social media posts, they are called "f**king jacka***s" and "Nazi war criminals comes to mind."

Another vile comment said: "You make me sick. NHS Grampian is in league with the devil."

The health board described the abuse directed towards staff as “offensive”.

They added: "These images show just a small selection of the abuse doled out to health and social care staff in our call centres and on social media.

“You may find some of them offensive and frankly, they are.

Someone said medics are 'in league with the devil' (UGC)

“No-one comes to work to be spoken to in that way, or to deal with the countless vicious comments on social media.

“Please remember at the end of the phone or on the other side of a computer are real human beings.

“We are your friends, your family, your neighbours and we work hard to provide the very best service we can.”

All staff at NHS Grampian are encouraged to report incidents of abuse which may result in prosecution.
