In ICSE Class X exams, 2 share top slot with 99% in Tricity

CHANDIGARH: Ravleen Kaur of Mohali’s Yadavindra Public School and Arman Chahal of Panchkula’s Little Flower School scored 99% to share the first position in the Tricity in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class X examination results declared here on Sunday.

Arman told TOI he wants to pursue a career in non-medical stream and become an aerospace engineer. Arman’s father is a scientist and his mother a homemaker. Arman said he studied for three to four hours every day, calling consistency in regular studies the reason behind his high scores.

Tarini of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, and Anusha Kuhad of St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, scored 98.8% to take the second position. Tarini scored 96 in English, 93 in Hindi, 99 in mathematics, 100 in science, and 99 in social science. “I am really happy and satisfied with my score. I would give the credit to my teachers and parents as the pandemic was there and online mode of classes was going on.” Tarini’s father M Prabhakar and mother Manju Prabhakar are professors at IIT Ropar. She wants to become a computer science engineer.

Anusha scored 98.8 in English, 96 in Hindi, 97 in mathematics, 99 in science and 100 in social science. “I am grateful to my parents, teachers, and friends. Anusha wants to become a cardiologist. Her father Dr Anurag and mother Dr Astha are assistant professors in the Tricity. Tia Nagpal of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, secured the third spot in the Tricity with 98.40%. She scored 97 in English, 97 in Hindi, 99 in mathematics, 98 in science and 100 in social science. She said, “My mother used to sit right next to me whenever I studied. More than me, she recalls my syllabus.” Tia wants to become a graphic designer.
