In Horrible News: A Groom Has Died At His Wedding Just As His Bride Was Walking Down The Aisle

In absolutely heartbreaking news that also reads like an episode of a daytime soap opera, a groom has died waiting at the altar and just as his bride began to walk down the aisle. Holy shit, this sucks.

57-year-old Paul Wynn was sitting in a chair waiting for his partner of 21 years, Alison Wynn, at Saltcoats town hall in Ayrshire, Scotland.

But, as Alison began to approach him, she noticed he was hunched over and his kilt had been loosened. As she got closer and began rushing to his side, she then realised that he had passed away. At the damn altar. I’m sorry but this is so unbelievably heartbreaking.

Speaking to Daily Record’s local radio program Ayrshire Live, Alison said that she had delayed the ceremony by ten minutes after forgetting her flowers and waited for a mate to bring them to the venue. Fuuuuck.

“Everything seemed to be okay although Paul seemed to be a bit uncomfortable by this point and his kilt had been loosened a wee bit to help him feel more comfortable.

“He had actually been wheeled up in an office chair into the lift and taken up the stairs as he had no energy to get up to the room. He was out of breath and struggling from what I was told.”

She added: “By the time I got to him I called his name a couple of times.”

“He didn’t turn round, he didn’t look at me and I realised there was something wrong and I started breaking down and I started shouting his name and we knew something wasn’t right.”

Eight days prior to the ceremony, Paul was informed by doctors that he had pancreatic cancer. He was told that he had between six weeks to two months left to live.

The late groom lives on through his eleven children, five of which he shared with Alison.
