In-demand winger leaves Nottingham Forest to become free agent

Winger Albert Adomah has left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old made the move to the City Ground last summer, having been released by Aston Villa, but struggled to hold down a place in the first-team.

He was largely restricted to a substitutes’ role last season, before joining Cardiff City on loan in January, and has not been part of the picture this campaign.

Nineteen of his 27 appearances in the Garibaldi came from off the bench and he scored three goals, before heading to the Bluebirds.

He featured nine times for the Welsh side but was back Trentside once the Championship restarted in June - although he was not involved for Sabri Lamouchi’s team.

He was part of a group to have been training separately to Lamouchi’s squad this term, with the Frenchman looking to cut numbers from a large group.

Adomah still had a year left to run on his Reds contract, and has been linked with a return to Cardiff, as well as Championship rivals QPR.

A statement from Forest said: "Nottingham Forest can confirm that Albert Adomah has left the club by mutual consent.

"The club would like to thank Albert for his efforts during his time at the City Ground and wish him well for the future."
