In-demand Erling Haaland remembers his Leeds United roots with retro Instagram post

Erling Braut Haaland has been pictured signing a Leeds United shirt as speculation continues over his future – although things aren’t quite how they seem.

The Red Bull Salzburg star has been linked with a whole host of top European clubs after establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects on the continent.

Haaland has scored 29 goals in 22 goals this season, including eight in the Champions League, and has been touted for a move to one of Europe’s elite off the back of his sensational form.

Manchester United look to be leading the race to sign the 19-year-old, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meeting Haaland’s representatives in Austria last week.

Earlier this week though, Leeds were suggested as a possible surprise destination for the striker, who was born in the city and is the son of former Whites player Alf.

And just a day after those reports emerged, Erling was pictured signing a Leeds shirt – although it seems the teenager may be having a bit of fun with the rumours surrounding his future.

Haaland included the picture of him signing the blue away 1999/2000 shirt – no a cult classic among fans and a shirt that his father played in – on his Instagram story earlier.

He also included pictures of him signing shirts from other clubs, including Manchester United, Napoli, and his current club Salzburg.

Haaland appears to be signing the shirts at a fan event in Bryne in his native Norway.

Earlier in the evening, Haaland had posted a number of images to Instagram of his incredible season so far, thanking fans for their support this year and looking forward to 2020.
