In Cam Newton fashion, the Patriots announce the signing of their new QB

The New England Patriots officially announced the signing of quarterback Cam Newton on Wednesday.

Newton reportedly signed with the Patriots over a week ago and already begun working with some of his teammates. Newton, 31, signed a one-year deal that’s incentive-laden — giving him $550,000 guaranteed and a max of $7.5 million. He’s earned around $121 million from his NFL earnings alone and has racked up endorsement money through his career.

Newton’s coming off a nine-year stint with the Carolina Panthers that cultivated a Super Bowl appearance and an NFL MVP award. The Patriots lost their 20-year starter in Tom Brady and will likely look to Newton as his replacement.

New England’s Twitter post about the signing was even written in Cam Newton fashion.
