In brief: J-Lo is not good for my career, says Affleck

Ben Affleck has claimed his relationship with screen diva Jennifer Lopez has harmed his career. Channel 4's film website reports the Oscar winning star as saying that his credibility has been affected by constant tales of the couple's life together (presumably including their on/off wedding).

"My relationship with Jennifer has absolutely been bad for my career. The overexposure this year has been really damaging," Affleck is quoted as saying. "The combination of me and Jennifer as a unit became more important than the parts we did in movies. It's not good when everybody knows everything about you. The mystique disappears."

Billy Connolly is the latest big name to sign up for a role in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Connolly will play Uncle Monty in the film, which also stars Jim Carrey, Jude Law and Meryl Streep.

Adam Sandler's next project will be about a workaholic architect who can rewind and fast-forward parts of his life. The film, entitled Click, will also be produced by the comedian.
