Audiences in Cannes will become the first to see the troubled film Gangs of New York today. But the select few will only get to watch around 20 minutes of the Martin Scorcese epic, which was initially due to be released last year.
The film, which stars Daniel Day Lewis, Leonardo di Caprio and Cameron Diaz, has been the subject of much gossip recently, most of it centring on disagreements between its director and Miramax boss Harvey Weinstein.
Ananova reports that Di Caprio and Diaz will be at the screening.
Pierce Brosnan is to star in two new films, both produced by himself. The current James Bond is to appear in a romantic comedy, The Laws of Attraction and a medieval epic, Legend Of Lochenbar. "We're trying to move away from Bond slowly," Brosnan's producing partner, Beau St Clair, told Screen Daily.
Jamie Foxx looks set to star in the crime thriller Shade. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the star of Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday would appear opposite Thandie Newton, Stuart Townsend, Gabriel Byrne and Sylvester Stallone in the film about poker hustlers in LA.
