Saudi Arabian Airlines is set to operate 711 flights on Saturday. (SPA)

Saudi Arabian Airlines is expected to operate more than 700 flights in the Kingdom on Saturday as the summer season draws to an end and as Hajj and Umrah pilgrims begin to depart the country.

For the first time in its history, it will operate 711 internal and international flights on Saturday.

Director of the carrier, Saleh al-Jasser, inspected the preparations at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport and met with officials to discuss plans for the departure of pilgrims at the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The first departing flight flew on Friday from King Abdulaziz International Airport for Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport with 410 pilgrims on board.

Other departing internal and international flights are expected to fly from the Jeddah airport and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
