'In a bit Mush' - Connor Roberts' Instagram post has got Swansea City fans welling up after Burnley move

Connor Roberts has used his Instagram account to say farewell and thank you to Swansea City supporters.

The Wales right-back sealed a £2.5million move to Burnley on transfer deadline day to bring his stay with Swansea to an end - a club he has represented since the age of 10.

Roberts' final appearance for his hometown club came at Wembley in the Championship play-off final defeat to Brentford.

He suffered a serious groin injury on international duty with Wales at this summer's European Championships.

Now, after completing his move to Turf Moor, the 25-year-old has sent a poignant message to the Jack Army in typical down-to-earth Roberts fashion.

He wrote: "It is with the heaviest of hearts I write this message, but the time has come to sat thank you and goodbye for now.

"I have had the pleasure of loving this beautiful football club since I was a boy, and the greatest honour in representing it on numerous occasions, since I was 10 years old.

"My dream was always to wear that shirt, and thanks to everyone associated with the club I managed to achieve that.

"So the biggest of thank yous to all the players, staff and every single member of the Jack Army who have supported me spectacularly and made the last 15 years unimaginably fantastic.

"I am honestly beyond grateful, and I hope I made you all proud by giving absolutely everything every time I played.

"I know some will be disappointed I am moving on, but it has been a very difficult decision and I hope you understand.

"I'm just a boy from a little village in the Dulais Valley, so opportunities and offers like this don't come around too often, if ever.

"I am very emotional writing this, as I love the club and the city it's in. I will miss each and every one of you and forever support the Super Swans, but for now, good luck and best wishes in the future to all the players, staff and fans who have the incredible privilege of being associated with Swansea City Football Club.

"I hope you know how lucky you are.

"Once a Jack. Always a Jack.

"Until we meet again, in a bit Mush.

"Connor Robs."

His words had Swans fans welling up in the comments section of his post, with fans wishing him the best for the future in the Premier League.
