One of the rarest Bollywood kids who has escaped paparazzi is Imtiaz Ali’s 15-year-old daughter, Ida. While tabloids speculate about the Bollywood debut of star kids Aryan Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and the likes, Ida has already come up with a film!
Ida has written and directed a short film, titled Lift. Imtiaz shared the short film late Tuesday on Facebook. “Title: Lift. Duration: 12 mins. Written & Directed by Ida Ali. Hope you like it,” he wrote. Like her father, she chooses romance as her subject.
The 12-minute film is a mature take on love and relationships and it is surprising that the story was actually written by a teenager. The entire film is shot inside a lift and that is where the love story originates, flourishes, withers and dies, and sparks again.
Imtiaz’s production house, Window Seat has produced the short film.
Talking about filmmaking, Imtiaz had earlier said, “When making a movie, you try to do your best, you write your best, you try to make it as natural and fun. But one thing I have realized is that if you put artificiality in a film and try to make it spicy for that moment, those things start looking very redundant very soon. Keeping it pure is very essential in order for it to be remembered.”
