'Impressed!' - Manchester United fans all agree on Erik ten Hag after his first press conference

A number of Manchester United supporters have waxed lyrical about Erik ten Hag after he held his first press conference as United manager.

Ten Hag, after watching his new side's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon from the stands, was officially unveiled as United boss to the local, national and international media for the first time at Old Trafford on Monday. Before he had even took his seat, he offered everyone an insight into what sort of character he is, shaking hands with the assembled media.

Speaking for around 20 minutes, the Dutchman, brought to Old Trafford from Ajax, answered questions on a range of topics, including his pride at taking the job, his plans for the summer, how he can take United forward and Cristiano Ronaldo's future.

Ten Hag said: "Today, I'm happy to meet you all and I'm really excited to be here. It was a really warm welcome here at the club.

"I'm looking forward to working with you all. This is my home and I want to achieve success."

He continued: "The confidence is that I have a good feeling with the people around, I have a good feeling from the meetings. We have a plan and now it's about getting the plan done."

Although Ten Hag, like all managers, looked to make a solid first impression at his official unveiling, he did exactly that, certainly in the eyes of the club's supporters. They have hailed his first official outing as United manager, insisting he spoke really well and provided the answers they were hoping for.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a look at what they had to say...

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's supporters were impressed by Ten Hag on his maiden outing as a United employee. He spoke well and hit all of the right notes.
