Nottingham Forest captain Michael Dawson has reiterated his belief that the season should be completed, once football resumes following the coronavirus suspension.
The Reds’ season has been postponed until April 30, at the earliest, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with Forest still due to play nine Championship fixtures.
European football officials met on Tuesday to hold talks and still hope to finish their domestic season by June 30.
Prior to the suspension, Forest were challenging for promotion to the Premier League and sat in fifth place in the Championship table.
Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion occupy the top-two places, while Fulham, Brentford and Preston North End join the Reds in making up the play-off spots.
Dawson spoke earlier this week about how he feels the season must be completed, and should not be made null and void.
Now the 36-year-old has spoken on talkSPORT to reiterate that stance, and also has predicted a dramatic race for promotion to the top flight, when the season eventually resumes.
“A lot can change including teams chasing play-off places, you could even catch the top two (Leeds and West Brom).
"For me, to end the season now, is simply impossible,” said Dawson, on talkSPORT.
