Important offseason dates for the Colts in April

The Indianapolis Colts are entering the most important month of their offseason in April as the 2019 NFL Draft will hold much weight as to how much further the roster can be built.

Even though the month of April is bit slow in terms of the checkmarks of important offseason dates, there are still a few to keep in mind.

Here’s a look at some dates to keep an eye on for the Colts during the month of April:

April 1

Teams that have hired a new coach following the end of the 2018 regular season can begin their offseason workouts. The Colts were one of those teams last year but with Frank Reich returning as head coach, they will have to wait two weeks.

April 15

Clubs with returning head coaches may begin their offseason workout programs. The Colts announced their offseason workouts will begin on this date.

April 19

This is the deadline for restricted free agents to sign their offer sheets. The Colts re-signed all but one of their restricted free agents this season, allowing safety Corey Moore to become an unrestricted free agent.

April 25

The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft will take place in Nashville, TN.

April 26

On Day 2 of the draft, the second and third rounds will be held in Nashville, TN.

April 27

Day 3 of the draft will consist of the remaining rounds 4-7. Following the draft, the Colts can begin looking to sign players that went undrafted, who will have now become free agents.
