One of my favourite weekly newspapers, the Impartial Reporter based in Enniskillen, has been sold to the Dunfermline Press Group's Irish subsidiary. The paper has been in the Trimble family since it was founded by William Trimble in 1825 and its current managing director, Joanna McVey, is his great-granddaughter. She is to remain as chairman of the local business and says the sale will help the company "face the challenges of a rapidly changing media marketplace". I wish her and the paper well.
