Immortals of Aveum gets brand new campaign trailer full of arcane gunplay

Immortals-of-Aveum-first-person-UI-with-spellcasting

A new trailer has been unveiled for spell-slinging first-person shooter Immortals of Aveum at E3 2023, showing off slick, magical first-person action.

Immortals of Aveum has you step into the role of an elite magical warrior as he battles his way across supernatural landscapes. In addition to your conventional shooting, the trailer shows off traversal mechanics as well as powerful beam weapons.

Boasting a unique aesthetic, featuring a mix of mechs and machinery, and more-traditional fantasy vibes, Ascendant Studios' upcoming first-person shooter looks like all the best bits of Bioshock Infinite and cult-classic Bulletstorm with a layer of arcane glamor on top. It's a stunning trailer and a refreshing take on the genre.

Immortals of Aveum is releasing July 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and promises slick magic-shooter action that is aiming to take the best of shooters and magic, fantastical action. As a quick reminder, the game sees you play as Jak, an Immortal, who joins a group of battlemages to "save a world from the abyss".

It looks slick as hell, and the magic on show consists of a wide range of options, attacks, and types that you can use to your advantage - and however you wish. The trailer shows multiple instances of being able to put together a range of attacks in creative and flamboyant ways with flashes of color streaking toward enemies and across the screen. There are vibes of Doom here too which will please some core shooter fans.

You can pre-order Immortals of Aveum right now with a standard edition on offer, as well as a deluxe edition which will get you a bunch of digital goodies under the umbrella of the Ancient Relics of Aveum Pack, including rings, sigils, bracers, and more.

Might it make a magical assault on the internet's best FPS games? Maybe, but it's certainly piqued our curiosity.
