Net immigration of EU citizens down as Tory government misses targets – again

The Government has once again missed its targets after official data confirmed net migration stood at 327,000 in the first quarter of the year.

The data covers the period up to March 2016  but represented a number 9,000 lower than the same time last year.

Numbers coming in included 180,000 EU citizens, 190,000 non-EU citizens and 43,000 British citizens.
