A Sudanese man faces jail time after Australian Federal Police charged him for letting his electronic monitoring device go flat and not residing where he was supposed to.
The 45-year-old man faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday for breaching the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to live at a listed place of residence and allowing his monitoring device to go flat.
He was granted bail to appear on May 22.
Each offence carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and a $93,900 fine.
