Images reveal what new theme park branded UK's 'answer to Disneyland' will look like

New images released exclusively to thew Daily Mirror have shown what a brand new theme park planned for the UK could look like.

And some have even said it could rival Disneyland with its rides themed on famous movies as well popular TV shows.

The new family resort is not connected to Disney, but is instead teams up with Paramount, BBC and ITV.

Plans for the London Resort will be submitted this year, and if approved will be as large as 136 Wembley Stadiums - packed with themed rides and attractions.

The exclusive aerial image shows rollercoasters and huge slides in the theme park - which has signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to bring movie rides to the venue.

Paramount is famous for everything from the Mission: Impossible franchise to The Italian Job and The Godfather.

And the resort has partnered with both the BBC and ITV meaning there will be rides, attractions and worlds themed around the biggest shows in the UK.

A recent public consultation which reached 120,000 people showed 73% of people support the London Resort's approach to the environment and biodiversity, which includes enhancing local habitats to continue to support the wildlife that reside around the site.

Meanwhile, 65% of those who took part in the consultation agreed that the London Resort will benefit the local area in the longer term.

PY Gerbeau, the London Resort’s CEO said: "Getting to this point has not been easy. But the public has responded overwhelmingly in favour and for that we are deeply grateful. We will go through all of the feedback and use it to help inform our approach and further develop our proposals.

"But there is no doubting, that our aim of creating one of the most exciting entertainment destinations in the world, here in the UK, has taken another big step towards becoming a reality. We now look forward to submitting our DCO application later this year."

The resort will be submitting an application later this year.
