Images released after reports of burglary in village

Nottinghamshire Police has released images of a man officers would like to speak with in connection with a burglary in Watnall.

Officers were called just before 10am to a property in Holly Road on Monday (January 4) after the homeowner was alerted to the incident by their Ring doorbell app.

A man is reported to have gone through the back of the house and searched through cupboards and drawers before leaving through the front of the house.

Detective Constable Bethany Sumner, who is investigating the incident, said: "A number of items, including electronic devices, a holdall, handbag and jewellery were found to be missing from the property, which were clearly of great value to the homeowner.

"Burglaries have such an impact on the victims as not only are items taken, but it is an invasion of their home and, indeed, privacy.

"We want to reassure the community that we take reports such as these very seriously and we are doing everything possible to find those responsible."

Officers want to speak to the man pictured, who may be able to help with the inquiries.

If you recognise the man, or have any information which could help, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 126 of 4 January 2020.
