Images depicting what Manchester's The Midland Hotel will look like following a £14m refurbishment project have been released.
Owner Leonardo Royal Hotels said some 120 of its 312 bedrooms have already completed.
The overall refurbishment is due for completion in June.
Leonardo Royal Hotels, which operates more than 160 properties across Europe, acquired the hotel in 2018.
Jason Carruthers, managing director of Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, said: “The acquisition of The Midland hotel back in November 2018 marked the start of an extremely exciting chapter for Leonardo Hotels in the UK.
“The £14m investment allows us to make our own mark on this iconic Manchester property, whilst maintaining the hotel’s renowned grandeur.
“We’re very happy with how the refurbishment is progressing and look forward to welcoming guests, old and new to experience the stylish new surrounding of The Midland from June onwards.”
The refurbishment will see the hotel’s bedrooms and public areas redesigned, while the hotel’s main foyer will feature a new, split-level bar built on a raised platform opposite restaurant Adam Reid at The French.
In addition to the refurbishment, current on-site restaurant Mr Cooper’s will be rebranded to a British bistro.
It follows the full rebrand of the on-site spa, which transitioned into Rena Spa at The Midland in November 2019.
