Image released of baseball cap and woolly hat wearing duo after armed robbery in Stanley

Two men are being hunted after an armed raid on a convenience store,

Durham Police is appealing for information after a knife-wielding masked criminal and his woolly hat-wearing accomplice made off with stolen cash.

The raid took place at 9.30am on Saturday at the Southmoor Spar Shop and Post Office on Park Road in Stanley, County Durham.

The force has released a CCTV still as part of its investigation.

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: "Two men wearing face coverings are believed to have entered the store, one of whom approached the counter with a knife and made demands for cash.

"The first suspect is described as around 6ft of heavy build, wearing a blue NY cap and denim shirt.

"The second suspect, who is believed to have waited by the door, is described as around 5ft 10 of broad build, wearing a black woollen hat and black top.

"Nobody was injured during the incident, and the suspects made off with a quantity of cash."
