A new image of a canalside retirement scheme, which is being built on an 'iconic' site, has been released.
Poppy Grange is being built on the site of the former Royal British Legion on Liverpool Road South in Maghull, which had been empty since 2020 when it was eventually demolished last year to make way for the new apartments.
The scheme will comprise 23 one-bedroom and 21 two-bedroom units designed for people over the age of 60. Other amenities include a communal lounge, a landscaped patio and a luxury guest suite for overnight stays.

Developer McCarthy Stone has now released its latest CGI of Poppy Grange ahead of an open day on Wednesday, April 26.
The event will include presentations on the facilities available at the new development, as well as experts on hand to answer questions from those interested.
McCarthy Stone said "construction is progressing rapidly" and completion is expected for winter 2023.
Louise Flynn, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone, added: "Poppy Grange is already attracting substantial interest from retirees seeking to downsize and enjoy a high-quality retirement home in the lovely town of Maghull with views over the lovely Leeds and Liverpool canal that borders the development to the East.
"The Discovery Day will be a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the unique McCarthy Stone brand of retirement living."
The Poppy Grange Retirement Living open day will take place at The Venue in Maghull Town Hall.
