Image of Christ seen in Notre Dame flames - do you agree?

Jesus has been spotted in the flames which engulfed the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

Social media users say a familiar figure could be seen while the historic 850-year-old building was devastated by the inferno on Monday.

Brave firefighters managed to save much of the building, but the roof and iconic spire were destroyed, reports The Daily Record.

Images from the scene made the headlines and Lesley Rowan, from Scotland, was one of many who reckons she can see the silhouette of the son of God in one of the pictures.

Comfort

The 38-year-old said: "When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw.

"When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image.

"I shared it and asked for people's opinions - even my brother in Australia said it looks like Jesus.

"I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time."

Lesley's Facebook and Instagram posts featuring the photo was inundated with friends and family who agreed the outline resembled that of Jesus.

Louise Blair said: "Looks like a figure of Jesus, or I am tripping?"

Dom Disanto also wrote: "I can see it pretty clear, gown and all.

"Imagine this was how god showed us he wasn’t happy with us, by using acts of god to take away ancient, beautiful monuments/ and cathedrals."

While Grant Mackenzie agreed: "Yeah I saw it straight away - it's Jesus!"

French President Emmanuel Macron has said he wants to see the fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral rebuilt within five years.
