An Erina man has struck gold after his first set of self-picked numbers turned into a staggering $30 million Oz Lotto win.
The Central Coast resident held the only division one winning entry in the country in Tuesday's draw and pocketed the massive windfall.
When an official called to confirm his winnings, the man was already at work despite a sleepless night.
"I'm splendid, I'm just at work but I've been waiting for your call," he said.
"I was up all night checking it every five minutes, it's legendary.
"I was absolutely knackered last night and just as I was going to bed I checked my ticket. That's when I saw all the yellow numbers. They looked like tennis balls and I thought, 'Hang on'."
The man got his family to double check and they erupted into a chaotic celebration.
"We were all running around the house like mad people and the dog was going off, it was hilarious," he said.
"It also took me another 20 minutes to realise I'm not sharing the prize. I won the whole thing. I'm that bloke that beat the odds."
The winner said he has been playing Oz Lotto "for ages" but that this was the first time he picked his own numbers.
When asked how he plans to enjoy the prize, the man said being mortgage-free is his first priority.
"I'll take time to think about what else, we want to be wise with it," he said.
The winning ticket was bought on The Lott app.
