Illusionist Criss Angel says five-year-old son's cancer has returned

Illusionist Criss Angel has told fans that his five-year-old son Johnny's cancer has returned, 11 months after going into remission.

The youngster battled lymphoblastic leukaemia for three years and had his last chemotherapy session in December 2018.

Dad Criss, 51, has now told TMZ that Johnny's cancer has tragically returned just weeks before Christmas.

The star said: "He's been in treatment for over three years.

"He's been in remission but unfortunately he had a relapse and he's going back into hospital on Monday."

Criss revealed that he's organising a charity fundraiser to support families with kids going through similar battles that will go ahead in the new year.

"In light of that, and all these kids that suffer with paediatric cancer, we're going to try and raise $5million in one night at Planet Hollywood," he said.

The doting dad also revealed he was treating Johnny to a trip to Universal Studios before he starts treatment again.

Criss is regarded as one of the most captivating magicians working today and made his TV debut on ABC show Secrets.

One of his biggest stunts came in 2015 when he spent 24 hours shackled underwater in a phone booth in Times Square.

Criss didn't eat, drink or use the toilet for the entire time he was locked up.

However, the record breaking stunt had its impact on Criss' health as he emerged with severe dehydration and had to be treated in hospital.

His other famous tricks including making a Lamborghini disappear and appearing to cut himself in half.

Criss' show MINDFREAK, which made him a megastar in the US, was also screened in the UK on Channel 4.

The show earned him a massive $100 million contract to perform 10 shows a week in Las Vegas for 10 years with Cirque Du Soleil and MGM Resorts.
