Maple trees at the Eikando Zenrinji temple in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, which is famous for its autumnal foliage, are lit up on Thursday in preparation for a special nighttime visit (Nov. 7 to Dec. 6). When about 650 lights were turned on, about 3,000 maple trees, which have begun to change color, stood out vividly. The best time to view the maples is said to be around the 20th of this month. The special viewing hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is 600 yen for junior high school students and older. As a countermeasure against the novel coronavirus, visitors will be asked to take temperature readings and disinfect their hands.
