Illinois State Fair adds The Fray, Meat Loaf to lineup

April 29--More good news for fans of The Fray, whose popular decade-old song "How to Save a Life" was in the spotlight last week after a shocking "Grey's Anatomy" episode.

The Fray and Meat Loaf have been added to the country-heavy lineup at the Illinois State Fair in August, fair officials announced Wednesday morning.

The Fray will perform Aug. 20 at the fair with Andy Grammer, who sang his hit "Honey I'm Good" Monday on "Dancing with the Stars." Meat Loaf will play with Styx and Tesla Aug. 19. Other previously announced Illinois State Fair acts include Sammy Hagar, Rascal Flatts and "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery.

Tickets for The Fray and Meat Loaf shows will go on sale through Ticketmaster Saturday at 10 a.m. The Fray tickets range from $15 to $37 for VIP seats while the Meat Loaf tickets cost between $28 and $50, according to fair officials.

The state fair, which runs between Aug. 13-23 in Springfield and counted about 900,000 attendees last year, is also offering a $99 "country concert blowout" package to see Justin Moore, Rascal Flatts and Hank Williams Jr.

"Country is very popular at the state fair," Illinois Agriculture department spokeswoman Kristi Jones said.

Two additional state fair shows also will be announced soon, but "no hints at this time," Jones said.
