Among the easing of some restraints in Illinois on May 1 will be the “phased reopening of some of our state parks,” Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Tuesday.

And the Illinois Department of Natural Resources had some details ready to roll on the reopening for limited use.

Here are the northeast Illinois sites set to reopen on May 1 for limited use:

Northeastern Illinois: Chain o’ Lakes State Park, Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail, Kankakee River State Park, Moraine Hills State Park, North Point Marina

Shabbona Lake SRA, which is considered in the northwest Illinois section, will be reopening.

Notable sites NOT reopening on May 1 are William W. Powers SRA on Chicago’s Southeast Side, Des Plaines SFWA near Wilmington, Illinois Beach SP in Zion and Silver Springs SFWA in the western suburbs.

Illinois’ most heavily visited state park, Starved Rock, will NOT be reopening on May 1.
