Illegal job seekers caught near border

KANCHANABURI: Seven Myanmar nationals were arrested for illegal entry, near the border in Muang district, in the early hours of Tuesday.

A patrol of poice, soldiers and local officials found the six women and one man waiting for transport among trees near a bridge at Moo 15 village in tambon Ban Klao about 2am, said Thananat Srisan, chief of Muang district.

All were checked for a fever, and their temperatures were normal. 

They told the arresting team they had travelled from Dawei town. They had paid 18,000 baht each to a Myanmar job agent, who had promised them work in Pathum Thani and Samut Sakhon provinces. 

Thet were sent to police for legal action and deportation.
